Minerva PLM components overview

Here you can find a description of all Minerva PLM components and their development status.

Minerva PLM Architecture

Minerva PLM foundation components

Description: Base framework for Minerva's modular package definition.

State: Developed

Description: Exposes an ARAS instance configuration as a business object layer with cached access capabilities.

State: Developed

Description: Aras Innovator client extensions. Data management (serialization / store / cache). View definitions using third part libraries.

State: Developed

Minerva PLM for Medical Device components

Description: The project contains information about the phases of the project including the expected duration of each phase, the deliverables connected to each phase and the tag books connected to the project/deliverables. Project templates can be created and used for projects.

State: Developed

Description: Manage deliverables within a project. For each deliverable it can be specified how it should be handled (closed), by whom, when (due date), etc.

Actions with sign off control can be added to the deliverables. The solution also keeps track of whether both the individual deliverables and the overall project are; on track, needs attention, or is off track.

State: Developed

Description: Manage two types of changes within a project:

  • Gate Review which is used to move a project through its different phases until it is finished. A check is performed so that no phase can close until all deliverables within it are closed.
  • Design Review is used to change the definition of an already finished project or a project which is in between phases.

State: Developed

Description: Structured categories for e.g. DHF, DMR, and Technical File can be created with Tag books and Tags. A tag is like a file folder that can contain deliverables in a project. A Tag Book is a selection of available tags placed in a hierarchy. You can structure the tags in a tree-structure, with ‘Parent-Tags’/ ‘Child-Tags’ using a drag & drop functionality. Templates for the Tag Books can be created and attached to projects and project templates. The Tag Books and the Tag Book Templates are versioned.

State: Developed

Description: Tag Book Export provides you with the ability to create a package of your managed deliverable structures that can be shared externally with, for example, regulatory bodies. The Tag Book Export will create a zip file with a folder structure identical to the managed deliverable structure and automatically add the correct versions of your files to the correct folder.

State: Developed

Description: Risk Management contains Risk Assessment which is an overall process that can be used on parts and products to:

  • Identify hazards and risk factors that have the potential to cause harm
  • Analyze and evaluate risks associated with hazards
  • Determine ways to eliminate or minimize the hazards

Risk assessments can be created on items like e.g. parts and several risk assessments can be created on the same part. To a Risk Assessment information regarding harms, hazards, controls, and recommendations can be added. Based on the information added, a risk value is calculated. The Risk Assessment with risk values is also displayed as in a graph view.

State: Developed

Description: The Traceability Matrix provides traceability on a part/product all the way from a user need/requirement is put into the system and to the actual output/deliverable that fulfills this requirement is completed.

State: In development

Description: The option to export chosen submissions from a Deliverable Matrix to a file package. It is possible to create different default package types with different content and different cover pages (with information regarding the package).

State: In development

Minerva PLM for Electronic & High-Tech components

Description: On parts, a ‘Production State’ can be added. The Production State indicates the maturity level of the part. Dynamic workflows for the ECO can be configured, so the workflow depends on the Production State.

State: Developed (11.6)

Description: The ‘Minor Revision’ is a generation within the ‘Major Revision’ and offers the option to control smaller changes (generations) without the creation of a new version e.g. when a part moves from one Production State to another.

State: Developed (11.6)

Description: Minerva Data Export provides the ability to export data regarding products with the use of the permission set of other users. The export will only contain data, that the user who the export is created for, can see.

State: Developed (11.6)

Description: The Minerva Data Viewer can open and view the data packages exported from Aras Innovator with the Minerva Data Export.

The feature has the ability to compare versions of a product and highlight changes between them with red-lining and color-coding.

State: Developed (11.6)

Description: Import data regarding parts (both new and existing parts), BOM, AML, and Characteristics. During the import procedure, a list with the uploaded data can be viewed including data regarding what action will happen to the data when the process is completed

State: Developed (11.6)

Description: The PDX Export is a tool that enables exports and views of data from Aras Innovator. The export is generated as a PDX package with an index file. The PDX Export gives the possibility to export large sets of documents regarding parts (including BOM, AML, etc.) and enables the capability to search across multiple pdf. files while the receiver saves a lot of time.

The PDX Export gives you the ability to export data with the use of the permission set of other users. The export will only contain data, that the user who the export is created for, is allowed to see.

State: Developed (11.6)

Description: Access to selected information can be provided to external partners. It can be specified exactly what items within e.g. a project the external partner should have access to.

State: Developed (11.6)

Description: The option to modify properties on a part or document without creating a new revision of the product that contains the part/document. Use the ‘Non-Revisioned Controlled Properties’ to administer which properties that can be modified outside revision control.

State: Developed (11.6)

Description: The mobile Client is a tool that enables you to extract data from the Minerva PLM and export it as packages (e.g. product information including changes). Data can be viewed and modified in an ‘offline’ mode.

The Mobile Client also contains the ability to compare different versions of a product and highlight changes between them.

State: In development

Description: Test Management is a tool for creating and executing tests for defined item types. Test specifications with test scenarios can be created and a result for each scenario can be added during the test execution. Reports can be created with test results.

State: In development

Description:  To be decided.
